hello -
after flying in to sao Paulo from toronto, we immediately take another short flight into belo Horizonte and then bus into \ouro Preto (black gold) an Unesco heritage site, filled with 17th century rocco churches.
I'll post some pictures soon.
we're spending the next few days touring the hill town, with its soapstone carvings and terracotta rooftops and charming hillside construction.
Our pousada, chico rei has twin double four poster beds, and a view onto the hillsides around us - the temperature a balmy 28 degrees sun and cloud, around us, banana trees, mango trees and christmas cactus.
the trip in from belo, brazil's third largest city took two hours by bus.
